MADE TOGROW

This is why Budots Media builds interactive experiences, assets that keep growing in value for our customers, and original IP. It's also why generative AI makes all three matter more than ever.

00The shift

Generative AI made content infinite.
It did not make it valuable.

Ten years ago, a well-shot video was a moat. Cameras, crews, drones and editors were expensive, so few people could produce at quality. Today anyone can generate a convincing clip in minutes. We know, because we run those models in our own lab and judge them side by side.

When production gets cheap, value moves somewhere else. We think it moves to three places. Everything Budots Media builds, for clients and for ourselves, is designed around them.

Interactive

Don't just show the Philippines. Let people explore it.

A video asks for a minute of attention, and then it's over. An interactive experience gives people a reason to stay. They choose where to look, what to compare, which province, which venue, which angle of the resort. The choosing is what they remember.

Interactivity also changes what you learn. A video tells you how long someone watched. A map, a directory or a digital twin tells you what they were actually looking for. Every click is a question your customer asked out loud.

Why it matters

  • Attention that lasts. People stay longer with things that respond to them.
  • Answers, not ads. It answers the visitor's real question: capacity, location, route, price.
  • Signal you own. Every interaction is first-party data on what your audience wants.
  • One build, many screens. The same 3D scene serves web, VR, AR, sales decks and training.

Where we already do it

  1. A clickable map of all 119 provinces, the core of our Philippines-in-maps work.
  2. NUSTAR Resort & Casino digital twin (2023): a 3D model guests and planners can explore before they arrive.
  3. Philippines MICE directory (2025): a venue finder, capacity data and dashboards.
  4. Drone Show Planner (2025): formations, transitions and vendor-ready exports.
  5. Scroll stories and browser games: sea-depth parallax, 3D that turns as you scroll, a Cebu street racer.

Growing value

Work that compounds instead of depreciating.

Most marketing spend buys something that's worth the most on the day it launches. A campaign video peaks in its first week and then slides toward zero. We design work the other way round: assets that gain value with every update, every visitor and every new language.

So our projects are built around living assets. A directory grows as venues are added. An archive becomes a searchable library. A drone scan becomes a digital twin, then a VR tour, then training data. You pay once for the capture and keep collecting the returns.

How it grows for our customers

  • Reuse. One drone survey becomes an orthomosaic, a 3D model, a digital twin, a VR walkthrough and a dataset.
  • Reach. We ship in eight languages (English, Cebuano, Tagalog, Japanese, Polish, Chinese, Thai and Arabic), so new markets don't need a reshoot.
  • Iteration. Sites built with AI get improved in hours, not re-tendered. Our own portfolio moved from Gemini 3.1 to Claude Fable 5 as the models got better.
  • Accumulation. Our 200+ tourism videos for the Department of Tourism weren't just one campaign. Together they're a visual library of the country.

Original IP

When content can be generated, the original becomes the scarce asset.

Generative models learn from what already exists. Anything generic, like stock scenery, a stock smile or a stock sunset over a stock beach, is now a commodity that costs nothing to make. What no model can give you is what has never been captured: first-hand footage of real places, local voices speaking Cebuano and Tagalog, drone scans of a specific coastline, and formats with an audience of their own.

Original IP is also clean IP. We shoot our material ourselves and it's rights-cleared, so our clients stay out of the legal fog around AI content trained on other people's work. And original IP is training data. A decade of our own Cebuano and Tagalog media is the foundation of our sovereign Filipino language model.

“We spent ten years accidentally building the dataset. Now we are deliberately building the model.”Budots Media

Why it matters to you

  • Differentiation. Your brand stops looking like every other generated ad.
  • Legal clarity. You know where every frame came from and who owns it.
  • Ownership. You keep the assets, formats and data instead of renting reach on someone else's platform.
  • Future value. Original archives train better models. Generic content teaches a model nothing new.

Budots original IP

  1. Kalanggaman.com and the Philippines Tourism Company sites: travel media we own.
  2. Philippines MICE directory, the first directory of event spaces in the country.
  3. Cebu News: multimedia news and visualisations from Metro Cebu.
  4. Aerial Data Ops: drone photogrammetry, point clouds and Gaussian splats of real places.
  5. Original series: Pinoy Athlete Series, Eskrimadors, Chupapi Island.
  6. Maps of the Philippines, built in-house since our first 3D maps in 2015.
04How the three connect

The flywheel

  1. Original IPWe capture what nobody else has: places, voices, data.
  2. Interactive experiencesWe turn it into things people explore: maps, twins, directories, games.
  3. Audience & signalEvery interaction shows what people actually want.
  4. Growing valueThe assets improve with each update, and that pays for the next capture.
The Budots Media flywheel A loop of four stages: original IP feeds interactive experiences, which create audience and signal, which grow the value of the assets, which funds more original IP. 01 OriginalIP 02 Interactiveexperiences 03 Audience& signal 04 Growingvalue BUDOTS MEDIA
05What this means for you

Our promise

Every Budots Media project should leave you with three things:

OwnSomething you own

Rights-cleared footage, scans, data and code, yours to reuse long after the campaign.

UseSomething people use

An experience your audience explores, not only a video they scroll past.

GrowSomething worth more next year

An asset designed to be updated, translated and extended as your market moves.

Katowice → London → Cebu

Bart Sakwerda is a technologist and entrepreneur drawn to organisations in accelerated growth. He's also the founder and manager of Budots Media.

Born in Katowice, Upper Silesia, he has lived and worked in London, Berlin, Tokyo and Hong Kong. His career began in the early days of mobile software, with Java ME and DoJa. He founded Budots Media in Cebu in 2014, during the rehabilitation after Typhoon Haiyan, and ran Budots Media London from Hackney and Camden High Street. In 2020, while much of the industry shut down, he built a full production house in Lapu-Lapu City.

He flies FPV and stabilised camera drones and works across 3D point clouds, Gaussian splats, maps and surveys. He publishes 3D models, datasets and data notebooks in the open. Since late 2022 he has steered the company from video production into AI, with a sovereign Filipino language model as its priority. His growth markets are Southeast Asia, India and Arabia, supported by European Structural Funds through Budots Media Poland.
